Lesley Gibbes is an internationally published author of more than a dozen books for children. Her latest picture books are Dinosaur Dads, Dinosaur Dads to the Rescue, Three Little Mermaids and Searching for Cicadas.

Her hilarious, internationally published chapter book series Fizz, illustrated by Stephen Michael King (CBCA Notable Book, Younger Readers), includes Fizz and the Police Dog Tryouts, Fizz and the Dog Academy Rescue, Fizz and the Show Dog Jewel Thief and Fizz and the Handbag Dognapper.

Among Lesley's other published picture books are Bouncing Bouncing Little Joeys, Fluke, Little Bear’s First Sleep (CBCA Notable Book, Early Childhood), Quick As A Wink Fairy Pink and Bring A Duck. In 2015 she was awarded Early Childhood Book of the Year, Honour Book by the Children's Book Council of Australia for her debut picture book Scary Night.

Her chapter book series Fizz has been published in the US, Norway, Czechoslovakia, Slovenia, France and Iran. The first book in the series, Fizz and the Police Dog Tryouts, was awarded CBCA Notable Book for Younger Readers in 2017.

Lesley has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Sydney and 16 years' teaching experience in Primary Education.
